Oh, Colgate Wisp, where have you been all my life? Marketing itself as a mini disposable toothbrush that allows you to freshen your breath without rinsing, the Wisp does exactly that and is about a billion times better than a breath mint, in my humble, minty-fresh opinion.

With soft plastic bristles and a liquid-filled freshening bead that leaves a burst of fresh flavour (in peppermint, spearmint, and cinnamint if you’re in North America), the Wisp is about the size of a lip gloss making it perfect to stash in your purse or in your desk drawer for when you’re met with the consequences of eating spinach for lunch. On the other end of the ‘toothbrush’ is a pointed end reminiscent of a toothpick, but soft enough to not cause damage to your gums.

USE: after pungent lunches, when you’ve been drinking all night, and when you wake up in someone else’s bed
BUY: in the toothpaste section of any toothpaste-selling store

dior addict lip glow

I’d heard good stuff about the Dior Addict Lip Glow lipbalm. A SPF10 moisturising balm enriched with wild mango which reacts with the natural colour of your lips to create a custom glow? This I had to try!

Looking dubiously at the Barbie-pink crayon, I’m not totally convinced I want that bubblegum colour on my lips so smear a little on the back of my hand. Curiously, it only comes out as the palest of pinks. I take my new purchase and skip merrily back to work where I proceed to pout and flirt with myself in the bathroom mirror. The colour is absolutely gorgeous! Lip Glow takes your natural lip colour and turns it from drab to fab instantaneously, without the heaviness of a gloss (though to really pump up the pout, a slick of clear gloss over the top will take you… well, over the top!). My lips turned the prettiest shade of raspberry without bleeding like a lip stain and got comments all day.

Dior Addict Lip Glow. A super pretty chapstick.

USE: if you need a quick moisture boost with a pretty colour to boot
BUY: Sephora; department stores all over

aesop amazing face cleanser

Finally! A cleanser that does what it’s supposed to – cleanse! – without stripping your skin or leaving you to wake up to last night’s party face smudged all over your pillow. Aēsop is a fantastic brand I’ve recently discovered, using high quality botanical ingredients pumped up with antioxidants and polyphenols to create absolutely divine products which are good for you (or at least make you feel good!). The no-fuss glass packaging not only looks slick, but can be recycled once you’ve (very sadly) finished that last drop.

The Amazing Face Cleanser, with its mandarin, lavendar and ylang ylang extracts, is lightly foaming and works best with cool water to leave you feeling refreshed, without that awful tight feeling in your skin. A little goes a long way to remove any oiliness or makeup – rub between your palms to foam up a little, then rub-a-dub-dub.

USE: if you have oily or open-pored skin; love natural, plant-derived products like Aveda
BUY: Online at Aēsop, a ton of stores around Oz
